The One Easy Trick To Keep Going And Stay Motivated

Have you ever wondered if you have what it takes to make it?

I mean in whatever arena of life you find yourself in…

Are you going to reach your goals? Are you going to make the connections? Are you going to accomplish God’s will for your life?

We often allow ourselves to get motivated to start a new project, endeavor, or task…only to reach a place where we no longer feel motivated. But the key to being successful in whatever we do is to stay motivated. So how do you fix it when you hit the wall? When you’ve run up against the virtual stopping place that you always hit…How do you get past it? How do you keep going?

To answer those questions, let me take you back to a time in my life when I was much more physically fit and active. I was never a runner. I never rode a bike. I didn’t really do anything athletic. But one day I started. I started cycling…I started running…I determined to become more physically fit. But soon…there it was…the wall. The wall was in front of me when I started running longer distances. The wall was there, in my face the first time that I tried to cycle past a few miles. See, I was really out of shape physically.

It seemed like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I didn’t think I could breathe any harder. My legs felt like they were going to melt off! For the first few times this happened, I would simply quit. Stop running. Pull my bike over.

Motivation was hard.

But during that time I learned a lesson that has stayed with me ever since. Are you ready for the lesson? Here it is…

Don’t just stand there. Keep stepping. Keep pedaling. Keep running.

The secret I learned was very, very simple; but very, very hard. It’s easy to understand the concept of “just take another step”, but actually doing it can be really difficult. In fact, taking your next step in life may be one of the hardest things you ever do.

But…the payoff is amazing. I learned that to run longer distances only required one step at a time. I learned that to cycle up that difficult hill simply meant one more pedal rotation.

This secret is one of the most valuable secrets for most anything in life that you’ll ever try.

Don’t just stand there…take a step!

As long as you don’t stop, you will make it!

With each new step, you see yourself going further than you thought you ever could…and as you see yourself pass by the “wall”, it motivates you. You start to know that you can make it. Your lungs fill with fresh air, and your legs get a second wind.

When you are up against a motivational wall and it seems hard to get past where you are in life…take another step!

You will soon find yourself much further down the road than you thought you could go…and if you just don’t stop…you’ll eventually make it to where you long to be.
