Don’t lose your perspective

Dear GrandviewChurch,

One of the things that I hope we never do as a church is lose our perspective…It’s important to be able to “see” the right things.
We do many things in the name of church…and I for one love the church! I love everything about it…I love the way that we do the things we do…I believe that God has created every church unique.
Each church has it’s own flavor and identity so to speak…and there is a reason…
DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE ARE REACHED DIFFERENTLY.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHURCHES.
EACH CHURCH IS WIRED A CERTAIN WAY FOR A REASON.
OUR CHURCH IS WIRED THE WAY WE ARE BECAUSE WE ARE CALLED TO REACH PEOPLE!

This is THE THING that we should never lose sight of…we cannot afford as a church to lose the eternal perspective that God created in us. That perspective is the most important thing we have…it needs to be guarded.
 We need to remember:
Jesus loves lost people – in fact, the sole reason that Jesus died was for lost people! Every single Christian has at one time been a part of this category…and if it wasn’t for God’s power through the church, many would still be lost. Church, we need to love, and look for people who are far from Christ and do our dead level best to see those people born into God’s kingdom through salvation
The church isn’t just about Christians¬†– On the day the church was born…3,000 people came to know Christ. It set the stage so to speak for what the main activity of the church is supposed to be. It’s amazing that we have the opportunity to get to know Jesus better…we need to be doing that on a daily, consistent basis…but collectively, as the church…we cannot afford to “get more of God” for ourselves at the expense of leaving lost people behind! I am a firm believer that, if we seek what is most important to God (people)…we won’t be able to get away from the power of God’s presence and the move of His Spirit. God is attracted to people who care about what matters most to His heart…and that is lost people. Every great move of the Spirit is preceded by a renewal of our hearts towards the lost.
Jesus is coming, whatever needs to be done must be done SOON! – All you have to do is watch the national news to know that things cannot remain in their current state for much longer…something is going to give…and soon…so as a church it’s our mission to point as many people as we can towards the cross of Jesus Christ and the love of God while there is still time!
I believe our church is a GREAT CHURCH! I am so thankful to be a part of it…and my prayer is that we never lose our perspective on what matters most to God!

 LOVE YOU CHURCH,
 Pastor Larry
